THE SWANS RED ROAD
2024

Transport NSW

The Sydney Swans’ partnership with Transport for NSW provided the agency with the opportunity to pitch the concept of the ‘Swans Red Road’, a campaign designed to raise awareness around the dangers of distracted driving. Centred around the statistic, “Looking at your phone for just two seconds while driving at 60km/hr means you're driving blind for 33 metres”, the project translated an important road safety message into a large-scale visual experience. This was one of my largest projects in terms of physical scale and production requirements, presenting a unique challenge in understanding the print specifications, dimensions and technical considerations involved. I was responsible for exploring how the design could work proportionally across such a large format, while also considering how the creative could be adapted for digital applications without losing its visual impact.

Working within sports marketing often involves collaborating with major sponsors, such as Toyota across both the AFL and cricket. This project required me to work within strict brand guidelines while developing eye-catching creative that maintained a strong visual connection to the campaign. Promoting Toyota’s Local Footy Club initiative, the final design was adapted across four different photographic variations, allowing for a consistent campaign identity while showcasing a range of imagery. This provided an opportunity to balance sponsor requirements with creative execution, ensuring the designs remained engaging, cohesive and aligned with the broader campaign.

Presentation pitch for TAB

Working across multiple client pitches, often within tight deadlines, allowed me to develop a strong ability to manage large volumes of creative work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of execution. One notable project involved developing an event space concept for TAB at the races, which required me to create a series of detailed mockups to bring our proposed ideas to life, alongside producing a 90-page presentation deck for the client. This was a recurring part of my role, working with major brands such as McDonald’s and Bunnings Warehouse. These projects exposed me to a broad range of creative concepts and experiential marketing opportunities, allowing me to explore how ideas could be translated into realistic digital visualisations. I particularly enjoyed the process of taking an initial concept and developing it into a polished presentation that helped clients visualise the final outcome.
